my boss bought some brand new alloys with brand new nankangs fitted and within a week he had a blow out on the motorway at 75mph with his family in the car. Road debris was not to blame nor low pressure as he checked it was a faulty tyre.

Firstly, the correct size for the focus is 215/45/17 not a 40 profile.
Secondly, don't skimp on tyres! they are the only thing connecting you to the road!!!

I got stick off some relitives the other day because on the back of my car I have a Bridgestone with about 2mm on it and a cheapy which the dealer must have put on which is brand new.
I'm replacing both with goodyears and they keep going on about how I'm wasting my money and should only have replaced the Bridgestone and how I should have replaced it with another cheap tyre
