Went out for a bit of a drive yesterday out some back roads for a few hours, anyway on the way back I had to renew my AA membership.
Basically I was driving along and it just cut out.....

My initial feeling is it might be the CPS gone bad as it doesn't seem to be running the fuel pump, I haven't checked for spark yet though.
Before I got it recovered I bypassed the fuel pump wiring at the side of the road so it was running constantly but it still wouldn't start when I cranked it over.
I had a quick look at it earlier and pulled the ECU out and everything is ok, nothing loose, battery terminals and wiring all seem ok too.
So, my questions are;
Can a CPS just break while you're driving?

If not then what about the below:-
Is it likely to be a coil issue?
Or something like an ignition amp?
