So I tore it somewhat apart, couldn't agree with anyone if it was lifter noise, or bottom end knocking. So changed the cam, lifter and followers + small ends.
While the head was off, inspected the valves and changed the valve stems. put it all back together and it made no difference.. CRAP!
So I decided to build a new engine as the old one had some scores in the bores, and from the previous owners statement "just pop in the blue chip module and you can run 1 bar!" and since the injectors was standard blue ones, I thought it was best to build a new one.
Started out with getting a non efi block modified for the cps using this.
Then got it honed and found 4 good pistons with new rings, from my spares.
Today I painted the block, and checked all the old threads on the block, in the next few days I'll get the crank in and it will start to look more like a real engine
The plan is to run a standard engine, port the intake, T2 (or 2wd t3 if I can find one). Hoping for a nice responding engine with the T2

and a FMIC of some sort..
Oh and this

well tbh its already running this.. Rob was really helpfull getting me started, and with a AEM wideband I mapped it and got it through the MOT. Engine is running surprisingly well, considering the knocking hehe.
