There's a guy up my way who is a master welder and repairs alloys and stupid things that no one should be able to repair. A few years ago he built a 1:3 or 1:2 Mk 1 escort with a bike engine he also built a scale land rover defender with a 4x4 quad running gear for his. I seen them years ago. Awesome bits of engineering imo.
