no the Renault key cards don't need to be precoded. They just have to be brand new or if a used card is purchased the transponder will have to be replaced with a virgin transponder which means splitting the case open & also having to replace that.

3D Group have their own branded Megane cards now. They're £60 inc vat i think. Used a fair few & they seem good enough
