unpick the wiring harness and pull it over the strut top then use loom tape to reseal it all.
i got sick of the main harness having too much resistance and killing wiring and alternators, never had a problem after it was relocated.
i did after several years route it back to the origional position but wrap it inside of heatproof sleeving and make a stainless steel heatshield, again with no problems on alternator (same one from 2003-2008 and lots of track use)
