BUT

Not always necessary.

For example....

If you spotted an over heat and turned off immediately and through whatever means found that the head gasket had gone AND your head gasket is a fibre type you're likely to be fine.

BUT

If it's metal prob best to skim

AND

If you drive it and fuck it up and over heat it over and over again it's best to skim
