Default T4 Finally Updated - Long live the truck turbo

You may or may not know my turbo has just died

It spat a blade out during a gear change - I shouldnt have removed the dump valve

It was a surge free copy of the MD240 roller bearing jobbie rated at 450 bhp.
30psi by 3200 rpm

I have now had 2 of these fail and have now decided to have something
different rather than risk another failure.

I have seen a few of these new T4 replacments which are basically a
complete T4 (not roller bearing) but have a GT30 turbine housing.
I just mapped a friends car with one of these and was so much
less laggy than an original T4 that I have decided to get one myself.

My next question may sound silly to some but there is method in my madness.

Will a T4 fit on a 4x4 cast manifold with a bit of manipulation ?

I sooooooooo hate the 2WD swan neck manifold

I just hate the space it takes up, needs a turbo damper and
is prone to breaking head manifold studs.

My idea is to make a low lag, long term reliable 450 bhp engine !!!

I know the 4x4 manifold is restrictive after about 440 bhp which
does not matter to me but is less laggy low down !

I have noticed in america that many tuners have turned there backs
on roller bearing technology as it has proved to be less reliable
and much more expensive without providing much gains.
