Default Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth (S.E.C.S Monitor and Wheels Update)

Thought I'd start a project thread on here for my Saff.

The story goes like this.... A few people will know that I bought the infamous Escort Cosworth shell of 'YUM' to build up.

Well, long story short, after just over a year of rebuilding I finally threw in the towel and Part ex'd with a good Friend of mine for a really clean 2WD Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth

The car came as an honest, straight well looked after car. As I'm good friends with the previous owner I knew it had been looked after and recently had an engine rebuild using an Escort Cosworth small turbo head (Which looks ) The is a full 3" Stainless steel exhaust system with the middle box removed which gives the car a real 'shouting' note . T3 Turbo, -31 actuator, green injectors, chipped ECU, Group A K&N Air Filter, Alloy Radiator and RS500 Intercooler.

The car drove fine and was quick for a T3, but as it hadn't been setup since the rebuild I decided to give Martin from Reyland a call and booked the car in for a setup on the rolling road. So off to Birmingham it was to get the car setup and really just to make sure everything was safe. I was expecting the car to make around the 300-330bhp mark. Martin ran the car up after doing all the usual checks, (fuel press, boost leaks etc..)

And after the first couple of runs the car was about 50bhp lower than I was expecting

Martin said he'd have a play with the actuator and check the fuel again and see how it got on. At the same time I had him weld a Lambda boss in the downpipe which will come in handy in the future

So after a tweak the car finally made this at 18psi...

So after the car had been setup, I decided to see how I got on with 300bhp RWD and to be honest it is alot of fun

...............BUT, I've been driving it daily now for a few months and 300bhp is starting to make me yawn

So this is where we are up to as we speak, I'll try to keep this updated with whats going on. Hope you enjoyed the start of this story and all (nice) comments welcome

Cheers Billy
