another note, i may have found an easy set of pistons to sling into the 2.3 to give it low comp (don't worry, they're strong), but i'll measure these properly tomorrow.
When I looked into the 2.3 it was hard to find a set of pistons from another engine with a low enough crown height...
YB pistons are a bit bigger on diameter but the crown height is too tall, you may be able to get round it by using the shorte stroke 2 litre crank but the little ends are still different IIRC
