More questions:

I am (almost obsessively) trying to make fuel economy best as possible with this engine. I realize a granada, or this engine is not the best choice if going for economy. But i want the best of both worlds. Also, reduced power loss is available power when you want it.

To reduce power loss, i allready planned the removal of the auto box, airco pump, power steering pump.
Original fan will be replaced bij electric fans.
Higher fifth gear to lower cruising RPM
Car will be lowered by 40mm
2.8 flywheel (i know there are different opinions about the effect of lighter flywheels on fuel economy)
My car is 200Kg lighter than the scorpio, but the scorpio has less drag
Keeping Cruise Control
Tyre pressure monitor system (The only way for me to actually check them)
Replacing all the lightbulbs exept for main beams to LED
Replacing the alternator by a lighter one (the car is a consul, so the simple version of the granada. It has a very basic electrical system)

Hoping to end up with a fuel economy of 24mpg or better after these mods. You guys think that is realistic? Or maybe other tips to improve mileage?
