yes its a stigma from transit drivers case LDV used to be really shit - even id admit that , and ( i know its hard to believe but) even slower than transits
but when the convoy came out using the good bits from the transits ( well nearly all) like the rear axle and gear box ( shame they used the engine

) the reliabilty became very good - mines now done 120k on same axle and box ,
Ohhh, nice fibreglass dash board!
yes its fibreglass , and a whole load better than the old styleeee , but do you really buy a van to look at the dash all day ??
the thing that was always better about the LDV was the load space , the transit developed a fookin stupid slant in at the top of the van

what was all that about ? so the load tapered at the roof , and no theyve gone back to the conventional van box shape like everyone else
and the transits have always bene shit on fuel

Yes the LDV is a lot better but they still use the shit door catches, handles, wiring is pants they still rot, etc etc....better switches and clocks though. From my point of view, they are not hard wearing enough for the usual type of van driver. If it was mine or your van then fair enough, it will have a chance of lasting but as a fleet van, they have always been a bit of a long running joke around our place alongside Fiat Ducatos and their French equivalents. Our LDV is a hideous sack of shit...
They fair shift now they have the new Transit engine in them.
I cannot believe they STILL use that shat steering box through the chassis though!
