That really doesn't sound possible if I'm honest, so your saying that the ignition lead doesn't click over the spark plug properly? As I'm pretty sure the top of the plugs, (the bit that is on the outside of the head) are normally all the same length, it's just the depth of which it enters the chamber differs!
