The repair cost qouted will be based on a brand new door, labour and spraying, then doubled by the repair shop because its an insurance company so repair shops have to overinflate the cost as often they dont get paid properly by insurance companies.

Its even worse on rare cars such as a racing puma, as the parts arent available new in many cases so they try and write them off due to non-availability of parts.
