If your going for a classic get a Type R ver 4-6.
If you do go newage get a sti.
Although there are issues with the 2.5's I'd still be tempted by the 2.5.
Upgrade the fuel pump, injectors, turbo, fmic, remap will see it well in the 400's with matching torque.

A 400bhp + impreza is a stupidly quick road car, you can't change gear quick enough.

I miss my old Type R.
