I have rear discs mate. Its the cable itself as a pal came over and it was stuck solid part way in. He got the cable off the brake by removing the caliper itself and used penetrating spray on the hinge part of the handbrake and that works and moves freely now. As it had been binding on he left the handbrake on that side disconnected but my brake pedal is now right down no idea why. I can get a cable from Halfrauds? I have a traders card so may work out cheapest option.
