Odd that...did you say the block got removed and stripped to be re-decked?

have you tried to 'chap' the liners down as they may have moved from there seat when turning engine over with no head on? (shouldn't but it's possible...) i've also saw liners lift from there seat during a hot wash when at machine shop!
