I think unless you are going to play with the advance/retard on a dyno then there's not a lot of point, you can set it up to where it 'should' be but i've found that even then they are never in the 'right' position for optimum performance.

Occasionally, you get a camshaft that's in the right place to start with even using a standard pulley, so therefore a vernier is not needed, but you don't know until you fit one and advance/retard and power run it on the dyno.


Karlos, I wouldn't say a cam and a vernier are pointless on a standard T3 rs turbo, sometimes they need a higher rev limit but there's still definately gaines to be had! you don't need boost for a higher peak power.
Camshafts shift peak power higher up in the rev range, revs = bhp.
