Bite his arm off for £100.

My advise is to fit a new timing cover when it's done, they are bolted on , but with sealer, and are sometimes bent when trying to remove. If you re-fit an old cover they can leak.

It's normally the hydraulic tensioner that fails, depending on condition it's worth replacing the guides as well.
