Disconnect the subframe and tie it back, but leave it hanging on the rack, helps get the box out a bit easier.

Your noise sounds like release bearing (part of slave cylinder)

Have you got any DMF issues? (rattling when starting/stopping engine - vibration on acceleration - vibration felt through clutch pedal?)

Might get away with just a clutch/slave cylinder, if DMF is ok.
