Hi all, let me introduce myself. My name is Phillip and I currently drive a Mk1 Focus Estate 2.0l Ghia spec. I absolutly love my focus, its big, ample enough power for the family (boot full of shopping) and never lets me down. However, recently the old girl has been suffering a small electrical problem. Back in Dec 2011 I had a small rear shunt from anothe driver. Not too much damager, just a replacement rear bumper, a small dent pulled out of the boot door and replacement reg plate lights. About a couple of days after receiving it back from the repair centre, I noticed that the N/S side lights wern't working front or back. Concerned as its MOT was only a couple of weeks I ran around checking all the usual areas, fuses, earth points bulbs etc. All the other light settins worked, even the duel filiment bulb. After failing to find the reason why the N/S sidelights wern't working I resulted in calling the repair centre up as it was a bit of a coincidents that as soon a I receive the car back I develope an electrica fault. Anyway, a chap came out, did some tests himself but failed to resolve it and took the car back to the repair centre. 24Hrs later he calls and says they have fixed it. He couldn't confirm exacty why it was doing it but said their electrical technician had sorted it. Please that it was fixed in time forthe MOT I took it back and she flew through the MOT.
HOWEVER!!!
3 months on, the same issue is now happening on the O/S side lights. Same again, I have checked all the usual areas however this time have noticed that fuse F57 behind the glove box has a blown 7.5amp.
The little stamped diagram of the fuses ontop of the glove box suggests that F57 doesn't do anything at all?
What Im trying to find out is DOES F57 fuse do anthing relating to the O/S side lights??
If anyone else has any suggestions why this may be happening I would be very much appreciative.
Many thanks people, and safe driving!
