So it all started a couple of years ago when i saw this S2 advertised on piston heads. I bought it from a guy who had several Turbos sitting in the back of his dads warehouse. I saved it from the sad death of rusting and decided it would be a fun project for me and my dad. We expected there to be a fair bit of welding work required etc, but even we were shocked. On first look the car appeared in very good condition... until we took a hammer to it
So with new sills, rear arches, battery tray, fusebox, floor pan welded, chassis legs, inner wings, front crossmember, front panel, and more it was finally ready for the engine to be dropped back in. I didnt want a concourse car however i did want to do as much as possible to try and avoid that which Escorts do best... RUST :s
So i stonechipped the entire engine bay
and dropped the engine in
and at the time i didnt have a dump valve, but i did have...
I wasnt expecting much from this engine on first fire up as knowone knew the history of the engine and the turbo was one i got of a guy for £50 who had had it sitting in his shed for 15 years...But she ran ok

So with most the work done it was time for the paint
So now painted i just needed to hunt around the sheds and find the interior i took out 2 years ago :s
And then it was off to the MoT garage for the first time in nearly 10 years in which she passed first time.
So this is my first project in which we did all the work, the first car ive ever painted and im happy with the outcome. Just need to mop her up and get a setup.
And if you see me on the side of the road with the bonnet up, feel free to come and offer any advice lol
Also does anyone know where the local meets are for the Colchester area?
Thanks
Graham
