Default The Fakeosworth. RS2000 powered Escort Cosworth Replica. More work done to sell.

Right, I don't want to do this, but I'm off work at the moment due to injury and had a good long think about what to do with my cars and I've decided, basically, I've got to make a decision between keeping either the RS Turbo or the Fakeosworth.
It doesn't need a lot to finish it, it's time and money I could be spending on the RS Turbo which I have spend thousands and thousands on and hardly driven since 2008 and the fact I should be resting my injury.
I've also been told that due to my injury I have to have a review which could potentially leave me without a job which means it really does have to go.

The build thread can be found here

I've done a few days work on the car;
  • Fitted a MK5 RS2000 interior loom, headlight and engine loom and fusebox complete with Clifford alarm.
  • All the interior has been refitted, although I don't have the handbrake surround.
  • Windscreen is being fitted next week.

From what I can see, all it now needs is a Pre PATS 1AGB RS2000 ECU and Engine Harness which I potentially buying next week, brakes bleeding and it should be ready to go.

I've added up what I've spent on it and its come in at alot more than I thought I spent on it and owes me (very) close to £4,000. I don't want this much for it, obviously, so would consider offers over £2,000 to move it on.

Exterior
  • 1996 MK6 Escort SI shell. The shell is spotless. It has never been welded and is the best MK5/6 shell I have seen. It is fully undersealed and has to issues. It really is spotless.
  • It has also just had a £1500 glass out, panels off respray in Ford Frozen White inc all door shuts etc. All the fibreglass panels were filler skimmed many times and putty primed to get them nice and straight. None of the usual wavy/ripply panels. The correct fill flap was also added for extra authenticity like the small turbo cars.
  • Full fibreglass replacement panels. These are the proper, full panels and not the half jobs featuring full replacement wings and the full rear quaters so they meet the spoiler.
  • Genuine Escort cosworth spoilers. Both the lower and 'whale tail' The whale tail is not shown as I haven't yet picked it up form the painters.
  • Genuine Escort Cosworth front grill.
  • RS2000 Bulge bonnet.
  • Very good fibreglass replica front bumper with genuine Escort Cosworth lower mesh, headlight washer jets and amber indicators. This bumper is the best aftermarket bumper you can buy being all the correct dimensions etc.
  • Very good replica fibreglass rear bumper with correct exhaust cut out.
  • Genuine Escort Cosworth pop out rear 1/4 windows.

Interior
  • Escort RS Cosworth front and rear doorcards.
  • MK6 Escort RS 2000 front and rear seats which are spotless.
  • MK5 Escort dash with Lockwood white faced 150MPH clocks.
  • Genuine Escort Cosworth Banana Pod with Gauges.
  • MK6 RS2000 steering wheel which looks like a small turbo cossie.

Engine
  • 2.0 16v RS2000 I4 engine. The engine is in good order. I took it out of my running RS2000 which had covered around 90k. It used no oil or water and pulled hard.
  • MTX gearbox.
  • AH Fabrications cold air box with K&N cone filter.
  • Full bespoke stainless steel exhaust system with home made decat.
  • Braided fuel hoses from tank to engine bay.
The engine sounds incredible with the classic I4 roar combined with a proper, sealed K&N filter in an ally box with the stainless exhaust. Sounds better than a cossie IMO.

Brakes & Suspension
  • RS2000 front brakes.
  • RS2000 rear beam and brakes.
  • Goodrich braided brake lines to calipers.
  • Brand new copper brake lines throughout.
  • KW Varient 1 coilovers.
  • Brand new lower arms.
  • Fully brand new Powerflex polybused throughout.
  • All of the subframes, anti roll bars, rear beam etc have been powder coated and colour co-ordinated throughout.

Wheels & Tyres
  • Genuine Group A rally car Speedline Course 16x8j wheels
  • All tyres are good. In fact the fornt tyres have very good tread. Rear tyres are Pirelli fronts are Champiro.
