I had this exact problem, ordered a new key which took ages to arrive, and then broke that fucker too

Ended up having the car in the garage for 2 days for them to remove the lockers. Problem with modern fords is there is no space between the nut and the bolt hole for you to be ble hammer a socket or a universal removal tool on to the nut.
