The Group B cars were awesome, im glad i got the chance to see them in the forests at full chat in the 80's....stupidly quick & talented drivers keeping them on the road.
We met Ari last year at the MINI service on Wales GB, also spoke to him at Comber Rally. One of the true legends who find time to talk to fans.
WRC cars are definitely quicker round a stage than a group B car but the romance and passion around that time will never be equalled IMO
I'm like you was lucky enough to see them live as a young boy, I've met most of the drivers from that era and have a lot of autographs that I cherrish

Very special time in motorsport but shame the spectators were not managed better :-(
