They have compartments for multi drop loads of different product at same or different locations, not to act as baffles or prevent surge, each (pot) will typically only contain 5 to 8 thousand litres.

Baffles are used in single compartment tankers usually acid or GP as with potentially upto 36000lts in one place surge is a massive problem, particually if its only part loaded
