Well today i was underneath and had a good look and it doesn't look like it.

Update time

The car has sat outside my accomodation looking sorry for itsel these past few weeks and i've not really showed it any attention at all.

So this morning after the F1 i was wide awake and the sun was shining so went outside and attempted to start her up..... didnt start. Thought something was draining the battery so jump started it using the Focus. In the end this problem turned out to be a loose battery connection due to using the terminal adapters.

Got it up on some ramps to have a look underneath, especially the fuel tank. Someone had tried to jack it up via it but in all fairness it looked ok. Also all sills etc underneath look in good nick for 30 yrs old.

So popped to Elgin and got some fuel to whack in the tank, had my mate underneath leak checking it and it was all good with nae leaks. Reconected it in the engine bay and boom i have a proper fuel system again, nae more dodgy coke bottles right next to the engine lol

By fixing this it brought around the next issue, the fuel warning light went out after a few litres went in the tank but the gauge on the dash refused to move. So next week i'll be stripping the clocks out and checking connections etc as the way i see it is if the fuel warning lamp is working then the sender unit is aswell (assuming they get there signal from the same place, advise if i'm wrong please)

Sorry nae pics but my phone takes crap pics and couldnt find ma camera

Cheers for reading

Duncan.
