Im pretty sure you can as you dont need to tell the insurance company if/when your tax/test run out.
And a car can still be insured if its sat on your drive but not road legal so if itgets stolen your covered.

Dunno if/how you go about it if you want to pay less as your not driving it so therefore wont have a crash???
