If in doubt then factor it in!

I've changed loads of dmf's and another thing is to listen for a metallic sound as you put the vehicle in gear, and if it feels stiff going in to 1st. You can get all the obvious noises you'll easily diagnose but sometimes the dmf sort of locks itself and won't give your normal dmf noises but it just won't feel right.
