Besides there not fitted for performance on a Rs turbo lol purely for noise.

To answere your question, yea it's fine to fit it hot side, plenty of cars have them like this ( pretty sure focus Rs does actually) ,
Have it fitted this way on my fiesta turbo as like you I didn't want to cut the top hose and it's fine
