FMC put aside 500 chassis numbered 38600 - 39099 , 500 complete 3dr cosworths were shipped to tickford tobe converted and holomogated into Rs500's .
the first 4 were white and labled Development cars aka " Prototypes , these were delivered early March , all 4 tested and developed ,these were the first 4 put on the Tickford paperwork 1 other car arrived in March , 10 black cars were assigned various roles amt training cars , photography cars ,validation parts cars ,press appraisal cars .
the cars as they went through the build process were assigned a number 5 -500 ,the cars went through quite random as searching for a chassis number of a certain car would of been time consuming and not all cars were at Tickford at the same time , they were at two locations .
this build list was passed onto FISA who were holomogating the cars on Aug 1st 1987 , the List was kept quiet as it wasn't seen as important back then , the list did the rounds to key people in FMC and dealers to stop people passing off 3dr cosworths as genuine Rs500's , sadly a few people did get burnt back in those days .
the List is recognised by FMC , FISA ( now the FIA) , Tickford & the RSOC ..
Michael you do have a special car indeed , it was one of the AMT Training cars that was presented to Rudi as a gift ,you should be grinning from ear to ear as i do when i look at my 2 .
The Plaques , In 1997 Martin Lobb the First Rsoc Rs500 registra and Club Rs500 founder had the original build plaques made , in 2007 after much so called copy right woo doo Paul Linfoot current Rs500 Registra was granted permission to have these redone , prior to1997 these didnt exist , sadly today i here all to ofter it's not got a plaque its not a real car , similar to the other myth where are your Tickford Wings , again another addition many years later .
