There are moves afoot, and have been for several years to regulate the modified car industry on safety grounds.
Even at present, any heavily modified ford could in theory be reported by a tester to the DVLA as a radically altered vehicle and banned from the road until inspected by a DVLA official. If enough alterations are done, then its likely you could be forced through IVA.
Theyve already been doing it with obviously RAV/kit cars like cobras running on jag ID or MR2s that havent had the ferrari body conversion registered.
Its a good idea to future proof yourself if you want to keep it road legal.
