got the escort rolling with very minor body work to do and really just brakes to connect up.guy who had it seemed keen but who knows if it will ever get done, i hope so cos it looked dam cool.
love the mk2 , i just want a modern equivilant .a car that rides well , goes well and looks the boll**.
back to the build, front suspension is a jag independent unit which in stead of having a normal spring and shock will be converted to run a coilover. also i am hoping to have an air ride set up which is only used to lower the car to the floor when parked but i want it to drive on the coilsovers. i know this will take a bit of doing but i think i have designed a system that might work.

another trick bit on this car will be the bellhouseing , this will be a range rover item which is cut in half length wise and mounted to a rover Lt77 5 speed box with a land rover gearstick. this little lot shorterns the whole gearbox assembly about 5" to 6" this means the engine can sit that much further back to the bulkhead.the idea is to have the engine completly behind the front axle line.this is a proven mod as a mate of mine used to race land rovers with the same mods and he had a lot of success.it is through him that all the bits are being made . will get some pics on as i get bits done.
