If I had not bought the plate the taxman would have had the money anyway so in effect it didn't cost me anything. I only need to buy 1 more American property to automatically qualify for American citizenship in fact its something I am actively looking at. If it wasn't for your Prez being a warmongering fruitcake I would be emigrating Stateside!
