I'm not asking for one so please don't ban me!!

My focus has a 6006E 6 Disc Autochanger which a disk has basically fallen into. So I'm going to have to remove it and remove the CD.

However I've had a look and I can't seem to find the CD code, the battery was replaced last month and the guys at the workshop didn't ask for one and the unit still works. So do I need one if I plan to remove it?
