i am confident that had you dealt with the police in a sensible and polite matter they would have dealt with this at the roadside.They could have called your insurance company to confirm you had insurance but by the sounds of it your non cooperation caused them to follow the book.
mate ,honestly lastnite i ad my girlfriend with me ,and i tried my best to cooperate with them.i told them ,who my brokers was ,but i could not remember who my insurance company were
i gave them the number for them to ring ,and i was been very polite with them,but they came with the intension to take my car ,no matter if i was polite or not,you know when your face dont fit
