I used to run my T4 on a standard engine with light blue injectors (would of been better with bigger injectors) on a 4x4 manifold was quite a tight fit but it worked and i never had any problems.
I thought that it drove really well was a tad laggy but i didnt think it was a noticable difference from my old universal turbo T38.
Just do it you will love it.
Think I'm going to go for it, just wandered if you could shed any light on a query about the wastgate/actuator location, I read on another thread that you can have problems running this on a 4x4 manifold, did you experience anything like this? Also, where dd you get the induction hose and what air filter were u running?
