You can loose some of the wiring. Ie lamba, carbon canister etc.
But it isn't as easy as 1 wire.
Think you'll need to wire 5-6 wires up for it to run at minimum. Few lives, permanent and off ignition via relays. Couple of earths, and a trigger wire for the fuel pump.
It's not rocket science though.
