Ive always been able to afford to spend on cars but when i first got married i sold my sports car & promised the Missus that i would not spend heavily on cars untill we were secure in a nice detached house & set up for life with kids. It took 10 years & then i treated myself to a Lotus .
I see youngsters on here moaning about their status in life yet still spending heavily on cars, Im afraid when they are 50 they will look back & say WTF ive got jack shite only a decrepid old Ford.
I was 50 when i entered this money pit Cosworth lark & decided to build a fast car. My advice to all on here is if you cant afford to set yourself up for life dont think about spending it on an outdated old Ford you are only young for a short time & you have to think of a further 50 years. Im having a great time at 66 because i was sensible earlier in my life.

I realise you lads will throw this advice back down my throat.
Rodney ive got a.wife and a house. Ive never had money to spend on my car up until last year.I was always scrounging.and.scraping cause like most people i had debt. Ive still got bills to pay and.my.morgage but apart from that i have a bit of spare money. I enjoy looking after my car and enjoy driving it.
