Low Sulfur .. lower Lubrication is the result of so Called Premium Diesel.
They have to Add Additives to counter act the reduced goodness .. Hence the Premium price
Special diesel is used here to reduce the Gelling affect of the weather .. And It's bull crap that so Called Modern diesel needs the premium stuff .. Av seen the latest ACERT's run on 80/20 - diesel / water mix in backwards countrys.
i remember when the ultra low sulphur deiseasl came onto the market
our buses all of a sudden decided that they wern't going to go as fast as they had been due to this new wonder fuel, and when i say it was noticable, it really was noticable
example, our buses were quite happy to get up to about 50 mph on the 50 mph roads we used to drive them on and they'd get there fairly sharpish too, but with the ulsd we were winding them up for the best part of a mile before they were getting up to speed, and then we'd have to slow down again because it was the end of the straight
this was some point in the late 90's
