Had a couple of hours to tinker on the car today before more family festivity's kick off
While i had the lathe on the bench i wanted to turn down my E8 socket as it would not fit in the recess in my other bells and as i had the bells anodized already and am not sure if i am keeping them yet i didn't want to machine the bell
One turned down female E8 socket
Which now fits the bell
I also have been searching for some 3/4" half nylocs for the front wrc tca pins but have had no luck so the only option was to machine about 8mm off the ones Mark supplied me with.
You probably don't need to do this on most set ups but when the steering is on full lock the tapered spacer hit the edge of the tca very slightly so i had some small stainless spacers made so this doesn't happen but by doing that it meant the thread of the tca pin now did not reach the nyloc part of the nut!
Original full size nut that no longer reached the nyloc
So put them in the lather and took a bit off them
You can see the small spacers i added so the tapered spacer does not foul the edge of the tca, it's now much better and the thread fully engages the nyloc section
Re fitted the front brake lines from the pedal box to the wings with the rubber grommets
Maybe gonna put a heat shield of some kind over this one
And lastly Steve who uses this board supplied me with some alloy cap head bolts to fix my front wings and lights on with so the stainless ones were removed and replaced with the light weight alloy ones
All for now, time for a beer and some food
