Most mk2 rally cars people are fitting flat shift. It allows the gearchange to be made without lifting of the throttle usually worked from a strain guage on the gearlever which connected to an ecu. It cuts spark/fuel to take the load of the gearbox and saves driver error of not timing the throttle lift right and damaging the gearbox
