Right, after having my focus sat in a pool of oil , it has been established this is defo the gearbox fooked. The gear box seems to be locked in gear still as the car in when in neutral cant even be pushed forward. and the Drive shaft seals have no evidence of oil leak.SO
Im looking to change the gear box and basically need to know the best to go for.
I have a 2ltr 16v zetec mk1 focus and it seems to be that the 2ltr 16v gear box is harder to get and a fair chunk more expensive.so can a 1.8 16v focus gear box be used?If so are they as strong as the 2ltr box ? is there any disadvantages to using a 1.8 16v gearbox if it can be used?
Im new to focus's as i have driven french for years, so this bit is new to me.
