It can sieze the pumps on TDCi's in no time. The diesel acts as a lubricant through the pump, petrol is the exact opposite. It has been known for the pump to start disintegrating in only a few miles, sending metal shards through the fuel lines.

The pumps are coded to the ECU and replacement is very expensive, sometimes not worth the value of the car. I hope this isn't the case.
