At my place techs don't get extra for MOT testing, but they have no salary. It's all commission. 25% of the labour they sell. MOT testing means you can sell more labour (test fee and repairing failures etc) I have a tester on about £40k but he does 11 hour days and works at a maniacs pace! Other techs take around 25 - 30k. That is a main dealer - Vauxhall.
