Story starts back in 2005, a very sad day which we all reach at some point when we have to sell a car to finance other things. The car in question was a gorgeous Saphire Cosworth 4x4 in smokestone blue - imo the best colour on a Saphire.
The car was sold from PF to Gary (Gazcos) - really nice guy. I kept in touch with Gary over the years who ended up selling owing to ill health. At my last enquiry, the car was thought to have been rolled by the new owner - a great loss
... until it was found again!!
For the 3-4 nights after, they were sleepless, although when I did get some Z'ds, they were filled with this car! So wiered.....
It defies all logic, even now and its likely to force the sale of my daily Passat ride and make this the replacement... but I had to have it.
Maybe this will explain why
So yesterday morning, I took the long trip to North Yorkshire with a truck and trailer for the 600 mile round trip, leaving at 04:30.
A very long drive but managed to make it home by 15:30 that same afternoon and put her to bed for a little bufty work. Sadly, its not the same car as it has undergone some 'modifications' which can only be described as to such a lovely car, plus of course 8 years of life which naturally takes its tole. All the Spec R has gone too and replaced with Pro alloy stuff, That said, there are a lovely set of 18" comps on the car, just refurbed. Even my history folder which I put together with pics of the car was still there. Felt just right TBH
But its back, and im over the moon, but needing a little dent master work, paint on the rear quarter owing to a key mark .
Just in case anybody has any unwanted bits , im after a cam belt cover, a set of softspokes and a set of 2WD cossie 4 pots.
Will update with some pics as she is now when the weather is better (sun was shining all day when I picked her up )
Hope you like
