...just bought an old 1997 transit duetto camper, it runs the 2.5TD engine currently on 59000 miles FSH etc, its 100ps apparently, is there a benefit in chipping it? Apparently the evochip gives another 20bhp, its not the extra power i hear i will get better fuel consumption. So:

1....Will it blow my engine up or shorten its life?

2....What can i expect MPG before/after chipping? (Fairly heavy van being a full camper)
