My saf is going to have an engine change but im not telling the DVLA, as its currently registered as a 2.0 and i will dropping a 2.0 engine back in (albeit with a turbo) - my insurance hasnt mentioned anything to me about it not being covered, in fact i can have whatever mods i want as long as i dont up the engine cc

I can't see why you'd want to hold off telling the DVLA the new engine number in your case, it keeps all the records straight and whether it's a 2.0 with a carb or 2.0 with a turbo, supercharger and NOS makes no odds to road tax on your car.
I have just sent my Firenza log book off for engine change, lets see what they say about 6000cc.. haha!
