Using the m5 accident to argue against speed increases
Ive seen utterly nothing yet to say that anyone breaking the speed limit was even so much as a contributory factor in the recent tragic accident on the M5 near where I live in Taunton, let alone it being the cause and yet our local MP is using it as a reason to lobby against increasing the speed limit to 80mph.
Winds me right up the way everyone blames speed all the time when there are other far more important things they should be tackling like the standard issue gap left on a motorway these days by most other people seems to be well under a second, nowhere near the 2 second rule any haf decent driver should be trying to stick to, we need to target bad driving rather than fast driving!
So frustrating having to share the roads with such a bunch of mongs and then the speed limit being aimed at them rather than those of us who do leave a decent gap etc.
