It's more for the look than anything, the Pinto is ugly. The small turbo engine looks great IMO.

I plan on running it on a plenum too, probably a mountune style inlet as it looks neater.

So basically, any 2.0 pinto block, change the pistons to suit the 16v head and we're away....?
